Here we go again....the game of the decade etc etc. No chance. It will be yet another bore with one goal in it. Fear will win the day and football will go out the window.
I hope I'm wrong but it will be Moscow 2008 all over again. Frightened football will be the order of the day.
Will Messi shine....unlikely. For me the unlikely hero?......David Villa. Seems to be forgotten but I think he will come alive tomorrow a bit like Et'o did in 2009.
For Man Utd Giggs is the key. He makes them tick. If his mind is on the game who knows?
Lets hope they can do it for the Premier League....and the blue noses!!

NBA FINALS 2011 - Good Or Bad?
The 2011 NBA Finals are here and for many it will be a breath of fresh air.....Dirk's Dallas against the Three Kings of Miami. For me it will be a waste of time. A rematch of the 2006 Finals which for me were the worst series of games I can recall in recent history.
People will point to the fact that the finals will be all the better for being Celtic and Laker less but for me the games will not be as enthralling because of it. However I will be rooting for Dallas - the lesser of two evils simply because I cannot stand the Miami bandwagon and the fact that a trip to the finals masks a poor season and simply shows that , like most sports
(eg Man City), success can be bought and the emergence of young superstars like KD and D-Rose counts for nothing.
Oh how I prayed for a OKC vs Bulls finals matchup......still there's always next year!!

March Madness
Back after a few years hiatus I am keen to express how wonderful the current March Madness NCAA Tournament has been. A number of close games and a well supported tournament shows the way really as to how these type of tournaments should be run. Hopefully lessons will be learnt and notes taken (Olympics 2012).
It is a shame that it is only shown on a nominal satellite channel ESPN America. I am truly hooked and can't wait until the Sweet Sixteen stage starts next week....beats the Cricket World Cup all day long!
Not long until the NBA Playoffs as well.....can't wait!

A Night In Preston
Yesterday evening I had the delight of attending Deepdale to watch the pantomime that was Preston vs Everton pre season friendly in a ground that only used two sides (one stand having been totally demolished) and where there were more away fans than home!
The game itself was a drab affair and was notorious for an innocuous looking injury to James Vaughan which resulted in him dislocating his shoulder and now being out for up to 6 months - Come on Biffa! and a poorly conceded goal from Everton early on.
That was until Victor Anichebe decided to level the game in the last few minutes which resulted in the usual mini pitch invasion - and the Preston police and security to then drape a cordon across the Everton supporters in case the Preston hundreds kicked off against the Everton thousands.
Funniest sight of the evening was a steward who had the maddest ginger 80's perm I've ever seen attempting to keep order at the Everton end -surreal.
Still on the footballing front it was a good workout for the Blues who will have to step up a gear in the next few weeks if they are to move forward from last season

Don't Believe The Hype 2
Well here we are on the eve of Game 3 of the NBA Finals and King LeBron has yet to turn up. The only regal performances at the moment are by Tim Duncan who is nailed on to get another finals MVP award.
Can King LeBron turn up tonight and at least make a series of it?
The viewing figures show that this one of the least watched Fianls series in NBA history and no wonder.......boring!
Please can we have a good game tonight.......PLEASE!!

Do Believe The Hype
"Becks is back" proclaimed the headlines. Perhaps the only person who didn't believe this is the man whose job he is likely to save..McLaren. Anyone who has any idea about football knows that Beckham provides quality and drive and passion which is not found in the majority of the players of his generation and not a player in the world could put quality crosses in like he has done over the last 2 internationals. But Lampard? There's another story - one word for him ENIGMA!
Don't Believe The Hype
Here we are at the eve of the NBA Finals and yet another Jordan clone in LeBron James. The next big thing! After Iverson, Bryant et al we are now told that he is the man. Admittedly he did give a performance in game 5 of the Conference Finals but tonight is where we see whether he is the man or not. Personally I hope he is the man as the Spurs are an efficient but not an attractive team.......but we will see.
